94 Turbo Look Option codes.....HELP!

Can anyone help with the codes that I am supposed to look for on the tag under the hood? Need to verify if a 94 Turbo Look is the real deal....

Thanks!
Eric

I think the code is M491, but there is a picture of a 94 turbo look car on page 115 of the red book. It is a 964 body car. After that the body went to the 993 and there wasn't a turbo look untill the C4S and C2S came out.

`94 Turbo-look? It's only the real deal if it's a C4 (all `94 C4's were Turbo-looks). TL code is M491.

It's a C4, and I'm going to look at it on Monday....from what I understand the M491 code isn't on the underhood tag (according to Adrian Streather)....so what #'s should I be looking for to verify the option?

About 200 were made? correct?

Is there a price range on this car?

Thanks,

Eric

It wasn't really an option, all `94 C4's came that way. As I mentioned, if you can verify that it is a C4, and that it is a 1994 model, it has to be a turbo-look. They seem to be going for anywhere from $26k to $36k, depending on condition, color, options, etc. Good luck!

So, does the C4 come optioned like we think of the normal "turbo look",....? Meaning everything but the engine? What options are desireable in this car?

I'm completely dialed in on early 911's....and 356's, but this car is outside of my knowledge range....and there is very little out there that I have found thus far in terms of information.

Anything anyone can pass along would be helpfull!!

Thanks,

Eric

No, the `94 C4 TL does not share the suspension/brakes of the Turbo like the older 3.2L turbo-looks did.

hallo
You must have Option Code 491 in the Service Book ( Sticker ) and on the Sticker under the Hood . The banana Arms are the wide ones from the Turbo ( 965 Part number ) The Brakes are the normal c4 Brakes .
The Car never had Spacers under the wheels , most conversions have because the axle Parts are expensive . It must be a C4 with a R VIN number ( 94 model )

i just bought one and was wondering about the brakes and rotors. it has the banana arms but not the turbo brakes, and in surfing found that this was a very limited model, so all 94 C4's are TL, thanks

i assume you have adrian streather's "enthusiast's guide to the 964". full of very useful info. bentley publishing.

Call John or I with the VIN and we'll find out for you. I have the 964 book in stock if you need it.

The 94 C4 cabs were not turbo look, only the coupes
