Angry Rear wheel bearing

AAARGH !! Okay-now I'm really pee'd,
I just replaced a rear wheel bearing (no problem as I bought the hub /bearing puller tool-I love that thing). When I put the hub back in I was very careful when turning the puller and stopped the first time I felt the hub seat itself against the bearing.Apparently this stressed the bearing too much as the hub doesn't spin completely freely (almost but it 'catches'in one spot as it spins). So I assume I will have to replace the bearing again---my question is this-- How do you know when to stop when re-inserting the hub ? Is there some kind of a maximum torque for this process?

slip the stub axle thru and tighten the outer nut first. then it may turn freely. the inner races need to be tight together.

Thumbs up

Excellent advice thankyou,I was so frustrated that I stopped dead in my tracks (it was Beer-thirty anyway). If that doesn't fix it ,I shall try again and set my torque wrench just high enough to turn the tool and not 1lb more.
