I've been putting this off for months, if not a year. I knew I needed new ball joints, and the front shocks were original (that's coming up on 18 years), and the ride height and alignment were off, and my tires were going bald faster than me.
But as much as I like DIY, there was just more to do than I had time (and to admit it, desire). So off to S-Car-Go Racing I went. Rob King (owner) took the time to show me his cool shop (I had the least powerful, most stock Porsche there...) and talked me through the possibilities. We ended up doing: Bilstein Sports on all corners Ball Joints Lower car to Euro height (ouch, had to reindex the rear tbars) c/b Alignment and new shoes: Toyo RA-1's Oh man - she drives like a slot car and the height finally looks right. The ride is firm but not harsh - much better feel. Can't wait for the roads to dry and give her real run. Time to get back on the Autox, maybe a DE this year?? Here's a quick before/after shot of the rear: Can't believe I waited this long for something that makes such a difference in handling. It's like falling in love with the car again. Woo Hoo!
