Pic's "New Kennedy clutch"

Hope this one is strong enough to stay for a while.
930 guys may have some interest.
This is the stage II with a solid metallic disk, 10lb.
lighter than stock clutch.

Any idea what kind of pedal feel with that? Who did you get it through? Any idea what kind of torque holding it has? I'm sure its more than I'm making now, but someday I may need it.

Timothy,
It goes in next week, I'll let let you know about
the pedal pressure.
The torque holding power is rated at 600ft.lbs.
I was having trouble keeping the other clutches
from slipping in 3rd and 4th on boost.
You can order from Kennedy direct 661-272-1147.

750hp?? I'll bet you have clutch trouble!!! WOW, I am going to have to do a search to see if I can find some details on that motor!

I installed the KEP Stage II pressure plate in my 930 last summer. I went with a kevlar/organic dual-friction disc from ImagineAuto to maintain a certain level of streetability. I've put around 3K miles on it and I like it a lot. The pedal feel is great. It is a bit harder on the left leg than stock, maybe another 25% stiffer pedal. But not overly stiff. You can expect a little chatter when taking off from a stop in first gear as it doesn't like to slip very much. I have tracked my car with this setup and it hasn't slipped on me yet, but I'm only in the 450 HP region. For now.

On-Off switch - No slip, just some chatter - Go Amac go!!

If you want to be able to slip the pedal at 800hp go - TILTON CARBON/CARBON - Dual or Triple disc.

Thanks

Porsche Crest

Feramic puck clutch pedal feel??? Sort of like a light switch ...

Brian's solution is more than likely a lot more 'driveable!'

Brian,
Good to hear it's working well. This is my 1st. shot
at a solid disk, The guys at Kennedy said it's the way
to go.(will last longer)
Doozer,
You know me, as long as it's locks up I can put up with
a little chatter. I did look at Tilton, If this does'nt work
out they're next.
Early S,
I know the on/off will be issue, but if it has a radio I can
drive it.
Altporsche,
The BMW belongs to one of Geek underlings at the office.
It's a nice car, we make him drive when we go to lunch.

ZLP,
If you order from Kennedy direct, from $700 to $1100.
They have stage I and II, and several disk types.

Also would love to hear feedback on the operation once you get some miles under it. Doesn't seem like too bad of a price....did I just really say that?

I bought the short box stage 1 from Kennedy and Brett suggested that I go with the stock sachs disc...450hp/425ft/tq
Engagement is smooth and with about 25% more pedal effort than stock. I would have gone with the stage 2 and sinterd metal disc but my wife would occasionally drive it and I do not like the light switch style engagement or chatter. I am actually selling my 6 puck disc on ebay right now.

Love this disc. If you want to see the abuse it will take check out my cheesey site below and play the 2 videos. they take a few seconds to load though.

you will love this clutch!!!!

I also just ordered a KEP stage 1 PP to be used with a stock disk. My stock 930 clutch slips when the temps are cold.
Let us know how you like the clutch set up.
