930 SC cam question???

I am going in to a rebuild and have access to an inexpensive set of cams for my 930. They are an SC regrind of a 930 cam. Other than the centre being machined down slightly which affects the amount the adjusting screws are screwed in and the general geometry of the valves, does this pose any serious issues as opposed to using a new "billet".

Thanks Jerry S

I have made SC cams from the factory 930 cam cores. The base circle is reduced and you are correct about the adjusting screw being screwed in. Factory base circle is 1.250+/- .010" from the factory, depending on which year. The SC on 930 cam finishes about 1.120" More than a slight change.
I have not seen a wear issue by doing this. Depending on how sharp the person is grinding the cams, there are ways to compensate for the change in duration and change in lobe centers which occurs when reducing the base circles.
Depending on how inexpensive they are, I would go for it.

I am in Canada and they are about 400.00 Can which is probably about 350.00 US. I had a look and see no scoring or damage.
