ok now i will have to be stopping by the auto show for sure.
congratulations Sam! i also enjoyed your car at GAF and on the board of course.....try not to hurt your face grinning so much the next few days. :D |
Cool Sam,
What are you going to do if some rich guy says, " I want it " :D |
Very cool, Sam.
Car looks great. Hope you take copious amounts of pics and video at the show. Just curious are those the original wheels...or finish? |

the 67S was the first car that came with Fuchs wheels, they were 15x4.5's and the tires are 165x15's also they were not painted like the 68 -73 fuchs, only the small area by the lug nuts were painted black, as the tires are so skinny on the 4.5's I've been running 5.5's with 195x55's I was thinking of switching them but they didn't give me enough time and it's been raining here all week so it went with the 5.5's |
Congrats sam - I was honored when they displayed my car along with the roll out of the 997 at a local dealership but the LA Auto Show is a whole different level!
mine of the little ole dealer showroom - http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1093734107.jpg Take lots of pictures Sam... |
Do you and all your friends get into the auto show free now? :D
Congrats Sam. :D Christian:D |
Wow, what an honor! Congrats!!!
I always go the show, but now have a "personal" reason...to ooogle at a fellow member's car. :D BTW, your car really IS stunning! Edward |
Sam, congrats! Your car is receiving the recognition it is due.
But, it just doesn't look the same without the tongue and eyes. Maybe those can be airbrushed when the car gets there. ;-) |
On the way they are going to stop at Mike Z's house for some custom detailing.
I think that car will look great in flat black and bolted on flares and the top cut off ;) |
Sam,
That's awesome. I will be at the autoshow on Saturday with some friends from work. Chris |
Here's Jim Alton's '65 from last year. Sam, your car is in good company. Excellent gig.

I'm hoping it's roped off or on some display where the general public idiots can't get to it.
Last year at the Detroit show I was looking over the lastest Porsche had to offer (walk right up - not roped off, but locked) and some numb-nut was literally sitting on the fender of the $130K 996 Turbo - plastic brochure bag swinging down the side of the paint - while he rested his weary feet. I don't recall any vintage Porsche's at the PCNA Detroit display though ... |
Thanks for all the kind words guys, I talked to the people at the show today and they are very happy with the car and I can't wait to go see it on display.:D :D :D
|
Are they giving you a Carrera GT as a loaner untill you get your car back?
|
|
Wow. You're living the dream. Congrats!

|
Emission, thanks for the pictures, how did you like the overall Porsche display, it looks a lot brighter then it's been in the past ?
|
Sam, your 67 is looking right at home among those high priced newbies.....kinda like a grandpa says "these are my boys" congrats
