Electrical / Headligths help

The high beams on my new (to me) '84 930 with a 993 body kit and Litronic (?) headlights are not working. Low beams are working fine.

I installed the Sucro relay kit and high beams still not working, checked the stalk and all the connections seems to be in good condition.

At the top of the fuse panel I switched the high / low beam cables (white and yellow) and still only the low beams work.

What to you think? I'm guessing that something is wrong at the headligth end (bad connection).

As I side note, the headlight switch is not dimming the interior lights, can this also be a problem?

Any ideas??

Thanks and Regards

PS. I do not have the electrical schematics for the '84

i would start with a multi meter or test light and confirm everything is working at the relays you just installed.
were they working before you added the relays?

Bell, thanks for the reply. Long beams where not working before I installed the relay kit (I was not expecting for the relay kit to solve anything)..

What really confuses me is why when I switch the cables for the low/high beams at the fuse panel only the low beams still working (in the same position of the stalk).

Time to find the test light and the multimeter..

Check for continuity between the fuse box and the lights themselves. Do you get 12V at the fuse box when the high beams are switched on? This will isolate the lamp or the switch side. Then start back tracing through each connector until you find the break in connection.

Thanks Jamie will do that.

If I remember correctly the headlight switch 'energizes' the system and the stalk just acts as a switch between low and high beams, correct??

Does the headlight switch has separate circuits (contacts) for low/high beams?

This is a link to the schematics for the 1982 headlights. Granted it is not the exact year but it should be the same type of circuit layout. fuse 7&8 are the high beam and 5&6 are the low beam.

1982 schematic

If you have the relay added for the headlamps it should look something like this
