Bare Canvas...photoshop guru request

Hello!

Now that I have my car together, I need some ideas for graphics.

What do you think would look cool?

I like Carrera graphics, but lets face it, they are kind of overdone, and my car is not an exactly done RS clone.

How about an offset stripe?

How about dual black stripe up the hood, over the roof?

Colors? Black?

Show me your ideas, or if you are photshopped challenged, post your ideas here.

Once we are done, I will create a POLL of the best ideas, and whichever idea wins, goes on the car.

Cool?

Alright...have at it!

Thanks in advance!http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1105070403.jpg

H4's look great on any 911.

Here is another view.

How about PORSCHE lettering on the side...?

C'mon, don't everybody post at once!

Thats what I was going to add, also, Id leave it the way it is. Looks good.

(but then, Im not a sticker, or graphics on a Porsche type of guy.Kinda keeps the competition guessing)

Beautiful car. I think an offset stripe might look good, but my advice would be to use vinyl as opposed to paint, this way you can change it every so often. I'm curious - your id is billy, your signature is dave, and your plate says albert. Are you incognito, confused, or something else?

My vote would be silver and black stripes (one of each) offset from front to back.

BillyIdaho 01-07-2005 05:13 PM

Silver and black stripe might loock pretty cool.
I wish I had photoshop myself...

Names? Dave = first name Albert= last name
BillyIdaho = knickname. No confusion here, not even trying to be incognito. Real guy, real car.

Answer your question, J?

OK, keep the ideas coming!

And yes, keeping it the same and adding H4's is an idea! Thanks for the input

Def H4s
I would consider some lettering on the rear lid. Kind of plain for my taste.
Maybe euro lenses.
Otherwise that is a fine looking 911!

Is it a track or street car?

Yellowbird RS 01-07-2005 09:49 PM

H4's, duck tail and black Carrera script.

not my car but I like the blk/carrera script

Dave

A graphic stripe of a tire tread pattern from front to back offset, would be a little radical i've seen it done on a yellow porsche before you would just have to choose what you would want. I remember seeing a porsche show car with the porsche crest in the pattern of the tire. Sorry I don't have any pictures for you I don't have a scanner to get the pics up.

Carrera stripes may be overdone, but if you make 'em gray, they're not quite so in-your-face.

Oh, and fix that mirror!

Here's a before & after of the H4 upgrade on yellow.

Tech - that looks pretty cool. I kinda like the Black mirror - I bought it that way on purpose, just to be a little different!
I also chose that since it will be easier for me to paint yellow to match if I want a change.
I probably should paint my horn grills black to match though. They are in nice original condition, however.

Jack - This is a street car - currently. No tracks up here, unless you go to Portland or Spokane. I have TOO many hobbies to add THAT, at least right now, especially with a young family. I do enjoy following your exploits, though, so you keep rippin' 'em up. Currently the car has a 2.4 CIS motor in it. It drives really nice, actually, so I am pretty stoked. I use my (street) motorcyle to get tickets, currently - my Black Beauty. The speed junky in me is sated - for now.
I plan on slowly accumulating parts to build a hotter motor, and learn 911 engine building.

Yellowbird - Yep - I will get a duck in the future, probably looking for one at a swap meet. Same H4's.

HawaiiPCAR - that would be something I would like to see photochopped in, but I could see how it might be tough. I been looking at some of the Porsche race cars for ideas.

Thanks for the ideas, and pleas keep them coming.

"Pimp my ride!"

IMHO, you shouldn't paint your horn grilles. If they're nice in chrome, stash them away. Black plastic repro horn grilles are cheap.

For a street car, if it were me, I would remove the deco stripe you currently have on the rockers. Then I would add the "PORSCHE" text in black along the sides, and a black stripe where the bumper trim would normally go.

For a track car, if it were me, I would leave the deco stripe on the rockers, and only add the black stripe where the bumper trim would normally go. Then I would put a big black meatball with a number on the door, and do a single 14-inch-wide black stripe nose to tail (over the roof), and a smaller half-inch black detail stripes running a half an inch out from the main black stripe on each side of it.

Sort of like Rob Dickinson's (awesome) car, but with the two medium-size stripes replaced with a single, and the whole stripe slightly wider.
