What size engine lid grill? Are there two sizes?

I just bought a used ducktail for my SC. Upon installation of the grill, I discovered that my existing plastic grill from both my standard engine lid and my 1976 Turbo tail are just a bit too large to fit the duck tail properly. It rests on top of the duck tail instead if resting into it. The length of the plastic grill is just a bit too short but the width is too wide and is the main reason it rests on top of the tail. Do I need one of those early metal grills? Are they a different size?

I can post photos later.

Many thanks,

As you have discovered the ducktail is made for the smaller aluminum grill. You can use the plastic grill, but you will have to trim it to fit.

I hear that the Al grill can be a little too long to fit aftermarket ducktails too. Trim away or make your own.
