Any local Pelicans who could make a physical cash for steering wheel exchange for you? If it's a scam, the seller might back out over such an offer. Otherwise, unless you're willing to lose $200, you should back out of this one.

zeke...you're correct, and so is larry...the free account from paypal will accept non credit card payments, up to $200 ( IIRC) for free, but you have to open a premier account for anything over that, and once you do, they take a cut out of everything.

his email address must be working for ebay transactions to go through. i would get him to update his email, proceed the usual way through ebay/paypal. for that amount i would give it a go.

for large amounts i always insist on COD.

its funny 'cause i have dealt with ebayers that seemed quite dodgy intitially but i have never had a bad experience.

Hmmm... be interested if any Pelican heads lived close to:

Santiago Blvd. #107-317
Villa Park, CA. 92861-4113

???

I'm emailing the seller to request a phone number and name so we can clear it up on the phone.

I'm around that area usually on Friday nights and late Sunday afternoons. Sometimes Wed nights.

We can work something out where I pick up the wheel and exchange payment, if he is willing to meet me in Orange (around the 55 and Chapman).

Leland,

Again, why don't you use the proper eBay procedure for requesting contact info, including ph# which comes directly from the registration information.

If you think the person might be trying to scam you, why would you ask him for a ph#?

Get the accurate info from eBay. Then call him.
You'll have you resolution soon enough.

Jim, I don't know where to find the eBay contact information. When I click on the profile it only takes me to the feedback page.
