				911 Gauge Repair Question

			Hello,

I need to send my complete set of gauges to North Hollywood Speedo for some work and I was wondering if anyone can tell me whether or not the car can still be driven with the gauges removed. I have an '88 911, and I'm concerned that the DME may throw a fault code without the gauges installed. The car is my daily driver, which is why I'm asking. Thanks in advance, -Mike |

			Hi Mike

My brother and I did start up a 3.6l engine on a palett ! We just provide one "witness" lamp on oil pressure sensor to be sure that we were not going to damage the engine So I guess that you could drive your car on short distance without gauges but you should hook up this lamp at the oil pressure alert cable. Just be aware of the legalities... Your car must be equipped with a speedometer while driven on a public road.
