7.47 BTG Nurburgring time with 930 chassis

Not bad at all.

3.7 0-60 time:

Too much power (that's 930 axle):

0-60 test short video:
http://www.zatzy.com/andreas/itsfun-G-tech.mov

(very)short ring video;
http://130.240.192.120/~reaperman/cars/itsfun2.asf

Few buzzy red cars overtaken on the straight:

Very cool car. 700+ hp on tap.

P.S.
Original 930 brakes with orange and air-scoops worked just fine on the ring, despite high speeds and 1300kg's weight...

I've seen some other videos of this guy on a track and at the drag strip, I think. It's one insane car!

7.47? on a 930 chassis???
Gemballa's famous turbo-powered 996gt3 was 7:32... and the previous record was techart's 7:44 ... 7:47 is flipin' miraculous for such an old banger

What kind of suspension does he have on it?

That 0-60 video looks like it's downhill...the way I do all my 0-60mph timing.

I think it's just the result (rear-end squat) of the serious acceleration.

The pic is taken while testing the 0-60 times, so rear end is squashed. Car chewed trough many rear axles this way.

"Downhill road" is mostly optical illusion beacuse of tele-photo lens.

Bothari: "BTG" means "back to gate"...you should add 20 sec (probably less as it's a fast car) to get full ring time.

Suspension is basic Bilstein coilover kit. Brakes are standard 930 with Pagid Oranges.

Engine is special...very special. It's TT-converted 3.6 with aftermarket EFI, two Garrett GT30BB's, very hot cams, GT3 cup crank, Verdi rods, JT pistons and heaps of boost (running 1.2 bar on video). Power is in 700HP+ range.

Gearbox is G50/52 with LSD.

Worh noticing is that car has around 200kg's of audio-equipment (DVD's subwoofers, amplifiers etc.) It's a "show car"... not much race car.

7.47 run was made with lot's of traffic, so it should be possible to improve.

Pics of the engine:

I thought it was "Bridge to Gantry"

Time starts at the "Bridge" 3/4 of the way down the long straight, where it turns left and downhill, and stops at the "Gantry", a metal frame over the track at the beginning of the long straight.

Send a message via ICQ to Mattias Hellore
The chassis is on 10 years old Bilstein shock absorbers.
The time is impressive at least.

Goran & Mattias. Your project looks like it's moving along nicely. When do you think it'll be ready to race?

We are severly cash-strapped (I'm a student again) so next summer would be a reasonable guess. Project kinda evolved and widened a bit (we are now in process of making our own titanium valve-lifters etc.) which postpones it's final end date. Wrenching, construction and manufacturing is great fun and you learn a lot

Our main plan is to make it road-legal and take it to Nürburgring and see what it can do.

And here comes "It's Fun 2" movie from mentioned 7.47 run: (right-click-save-as to conserve bandwidth please, it's 50 MB AVI)

There is lot's of traffic, so it can probably go faster than that:

http://www.myyntivirta.se/Itsfun2_ringen2004.avi

I helped owner of this car with some minor stuff so I'm also glad it finally works.

(It had heaps of problems of different sort: desintegrating fan belts, broken shafts, oil-evacuation problems etc. but now it seems most of it is sorted out)
