Autobody guys help?

I have the car stripped. I am planning on doing my bondo and then primering soon after. My question is, what do I wash the metal with before I put the bondo on? I bought this stuff that turns the metal a tint of blue but was told not to use where I am putting the bondo, but just to wash the bare metal that I am putting the primer over. What is the most cost effective way of doing this. The blue stuff alone cost me $22 for like a quart. I think it is just rubbing alcohol? After paying almost $300 for just my primers/activators I am looking for methods to reduce cost. Soap and water and dry immediatley? Any suggestions?

My wife is gonna Sh%T and then she is gonna kill me.

Thanks,

David

Take all of this with a grain of salt. I would paint the bare metal surfaces with an epoxy primer compatable with the paint process that you are using. The epoxy primer that you use should have a recommendation as to how to prep the bare metal.

I have been doing a lot of research on this and have come to the conclusion that all fillers (bondo) should be added on top of the primer. YMMV, Chuck
