Caterpillar RSR?
I remember seeing this car in a thread about a historical rally (not in the US) about a year ago. It has shown up in another thread recently and i asked the same question Im about to ask now.
Does anyone have any details or history on this car? I know Caterpillar is involved with Nascar today, but have they ever been affiliated with Porsche? Is this a real RSR? Does it have a race history with a Cat livery? TIA ![]() |

Peter Schutz (Former Porsche CEO) used to work for CAT. Maybe it's his? Those are Swiss plates and the CAT decal looks like it is from their Finance Division. The rear window decal looks like a historical rally piece. Maybe they sponsored a CAT dealers' car. Don't see any synergy between brands in Europe. Been a long time since I drove a CAT but I don't remember them cornering well

The car is a real 2.8RSR, owned by a guy called Jim Logan. As far as I know he is American and lives near Geneva. I know the guy who looks after the car.
