To clarify my request, I want to buy a new FPR, but the existing Porsche ones don't match my needs.
If anyone can recommend one, please give me the make & model & I will check it out.
Thanks,
BoxsterGT

Make yours adjustable. Or if you're just trying to buy one, try the used parts forum since this really isn't the place to post want ads.

Bosch fuel press regulator FPR

Thank you for your replies.

I am planning an EFI conversion of my 930, and want a Bosch FPR so that it looks & functions as the factory would have done it.

The part with the heating element looks like a warm-up regulator. Thats a good idea to make it adjustable, but I really need a FPR like used in an 84 911 Carrera.

The Mercedes FPR is adjustable, but has push on fittings with hose clamps.

I am afraid of going to 50-60 lbs or more with only hose clamps. I can crimp the original hose at work just as the factory does, once I find the correct FPR.

Any additional input would be appreciated.

I don't know about another direct replacement Bosch part that's adjustable. Are the barb fittings integral to the MB unit, or can you unscrew them and change to the fitting of your choice with an adapter?

Other alternatives. I know my BMW has a motronic system similar to the Carreras. I hate to suggest a Pelican competitor, but if you go the Bavarian Autosport site (www.************) and search on "Fuel pressure regulator" for a 1989 BMW 325i, you'll see their recommendation as an adjustable replacement for the Bosch unit. Similarly, if you go to Summit Racing and search on the same, you'll see a number of alternatives from companies such as Aeroquip which you can plumb with AN lines or probably get metric adapters for.

one of the fuel hoses below the pressure regulator on the 3.2 carrera is hose clamped, so porsche must not have been too worried about it. VW has some nice full round, inner sleeved clamps that are crimped with sidecutters. one time use, but pretty cool.
