Considering an mb911 muffler. Can you guys guide me?

How loud are they? Power gain/loss? I currently have a 2in/2out Dansk.

The car is a track car.......

I have dB limits at some of the tracks I run at. How loud?

I don't want to lose any power.

I am most interested in the weight savings. How much?

Not yet. It's been cold here and the new garage is unheated. You should have seen me out there yesterday hanging lights. Down jacket, gloves, and hat. It looked like I just came in from a day of skiing.

My plan is for this week. A heat wave (40+ degrees) is coming!!!

I am excited to try it out and post results. You can tell the significant weight loss the car is about to see just by picking it up.

SoCal just washed out to sea. NorCal is no picnic either. You've been watching too many Rose Parades where it hasn't rained in over 50 years and many times the weather is warm enough by the end of the Parade for shirt sleeves.

My muffler is on it's way, Hooray! Maybe I can find a pic Ben sent me. Or, Ben, put it up here. I have some shorty megaphones on it.

chrisp, I have a 2 in 1 out MB911 muffler on my 3.2 with SSI's. The exhaust note is unique. I have heard that the 2 in 2 out is louder but as said before, what's loud to one Pelican may be quiet to another. I really like the MB911 muffler. The weld quality is excellent and you won't find a better muffler for the money.

MB911,
As if this hasn't been asked 100 times. Do you have a 1 in 1 out for a 3.0 yet?

I wish I had a dB meter because I have a Dansk 2/2 and an mb911 2/2.

Just a heads up...dB testing is a very sensitive thing. Read this.

I used to do this for motorcycles/atv and it's a very sensitive thing. For us to share and compare results these procedures are important.

be sure to state what weighting scale you use on the dB meter.

I, we intend to follow SAE J1169 standards as close as possible, but I only wanted to measure the change from stock, and the change from Ben's loud/louder muffler to a just shipped one that should be a little more quiet. I'm not a sound lab guy and any info would be speculative at best, but nonetheless it should be fairly accurate.

section 7.1 The sound level meter shall be set for the slow exponential time-averaging characteristic and for the A weighting network

You guys will not be disappointed when you install Bens muffler,it is a work of art with the welds, lightweight and the sound is incredible.I can't get the grin off my face as the revs climb and people actually stop and look to see what is making that noise!!

Now, if he'd only make a 1-in-1-out to replace my stock muffler. Sigh.
