Who has an armrest between the seats?
Has anyone tried the center mounted armrest our host sells? Are there other armrests available for SCs with manual heater levers behind the hand brake? Thanks.

This one? I used to have a different type -- mine bolted to the side of the seat. It was great for reducing fatigue on very long drives. If your elbows can rest, your neck doesn't get sore. |
I had one of those in my car, really worked great. Looks like a factory option. The one I have is no longer sold my our host:
Arm Rest / Cup Holder, 911 (1978-89), w/manual climate control - Black PEL-911-AR-02 http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-911-used-parts-sale-wanted/147661-arm-rest-cup-holder-1977-1989-911-a.html |
Jack: Is that mounted to the hatch for the shift coupler?

The arm rest support is mounted to a steel plate that replaces the sheet metal cover over the shift coupler. I do have a few of these left if any one is interested.

I made this one with an arm pad from an old piece of weight bench and a piece of wood removed from an old black chair.
It sits on top of the temp controller and the rear hump with no screws or attachments so I can take it in and out as I need to. Cost was practically nothing since it was stuff I had laying around Here are a couple of pics.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1105657944.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1105658022.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1105658174.jpg |

I saw this post a while ago and someone else asked, so I thought I would provide. I am using an arm rest I purchased from JC Whitney - and it is much cheaper than the others listed. It drops in and comes out easily, It does interfere with the heater controls, bit nothing I can't deal with. Here's a photo from the JCW catalog. Definitely helpful on long trips and provides somewhere to put my sunglasses now that my new gaiges take up my console.

Been wanting one of these for a while. Good thread!

I just bought the one from JMPRO. Looks well built. I haven't had time to install it yet though. Not because installation is hard but that it's raining out and my targa lives under an all-weather cover 24 X 7.

It seems that all of the designs make it a little harder to hook and unhook the seat belt , although i am proud of my design that allows for easy use and access to the e-brake and heater controls. For many years i drove a van for my work that had arm rests on both sides of the seat and then on weekends get in the Porsche and try to figure out what to do with my right elbow.
