quick easy question.....coil wiring

73 911 T

How many wires are supposed to be attached to the two coil terminals?

The one terminal has a twisted brown wire that goes to the ground.

My other terminal only has a the blue/yellow wire from the CDS unit.

Shouldn't there be another wire that attaches to the terminal with the CDS unit?

Jim,

Perfectly normal!

The 'other' wire is the braided shield, and it normally is bolted to the coil mounting bracket & distributor body clamping stud ... it is attached to the CDI unit at the other end at Ground terminal 'D' ...
