e-bay comedy/WTF?

Check out the 2 "930's" on e-bay. One is a '78 Chevy V8 conversion with "chevy graphics" all over the paintjob, and a starting bid of $32,000 (!!!), and the other a '74 advertised throughout as a 930 with "current stats" of 3.3 liter and 282 HP, but when someone asks the question the seller admits that it has the original 2.7 engine. What is wrong with these morons???

add a link by: pull up page, put mouse pointer in the address box, usually starting with http:www, right click mouse on it. the address will highlight (turn color), in the right click drop menu double click on the "copy" icon. from there go to this thread and with your mouse arrow in the thread right click again, this time double click on the "paste" icon. it will place the website link to the page in your post.

you will get more play here. otherwise it will go and die a quick page 2,3,4 death. just a way to share what you've found. i for one can click on an ebay link, but a search or sign in my work computer denys.

I just asked this question to the seller of the "1986" turbo: Ok, the engine is not a 3.3 but a 2.7. Is it producing 300hp?

Hie ad is very misleading and borders on fraud.

eScamBay strikes again (with the 1974 "930"). The V8 is just overpricd, of course, but that isn't fraud.

the first one probably has 20 k+ in it and just looks stupid with the graphics. the second is definately skirting fraud. and is definately doing it intentionally! Really a scumbag.

This just proves that you shouldn't smoke crack while writing a car ad, becasue this guy had to have been. My friend and mechanic told me it's okay to smoke crack and I believed them, just like I believed everything they told me about this car.

Yeah, I like the way he switches between turbo and turbo-look in the description.

This guy is a fraud - too bad E-bay won't do anything about it.

i posted a question , his reply is useless

Beste 911s73targa,

"you mention 930 turbo
then claim the engine is a 3.3 with 282 HP

but in Jim's question you call it a 2.7 with carbs?
and a body kit on a 911 T chassis

so what is it now?
a '74 911 T with CIS removed and carbs installed?
or a '74 T with engine removed and 3.2 engine installed ?"

Sorry for the confusion. I called my mechanic friend to get the facts. The car is a 1974 frame with a new (I was told and my mechanic agreed) 2.7 liter with dual carbs, a 911 T widebody 930 Turbo look conversion to 1986 specs. It is not a Turbo, but runs compparably. Hope this clears it up.
Dan

in what world can a 2.7 with carbs be comparale to a 930 turbo !??!

did anyone report this guy to Ebay? I'm not Ebay savy and couldn't find a link to report it. Definately blatant fraud. And since there's a sucker born every minute, he'll probably sell it.

How do you rename the link? I see guys change it to "here" or something similar. Just for my curious mind...

This guy's getting hammered by many. If he was a good shiester he's wouldn't let the questions and answers get published in his ad. LMAO.

My questions / His answers:

Q: "For the 1986 model; year, the Porsche Turbo also received a new hydraulic clutch"
Does your car have this setup? Please explain.

A: I do not believe this car has the 86 hydraulic clutch. The clutch that is in it is new and tight, but I honestly can't tell you any more particulars on it. I sincerely beleive it has many thousand miles left on it, the friction plate is immediate with no slip whatsoever. Thanks for asking.

Q: Ok, the engine is not a 3.3 but a 2.7. Is it producing 300hp?

A: That is my understanding from talking with my neighbor friend and mechanic, and when driving it, it will take down most anything on the road. I love it, it is a blast to bomb around in.

I sent the 86 turbo guy a slew of questions that he's not responded to.
