82 3.0 CIS....What is the plastic canister between the oil filler neck and the firewall on the passenger side of the engine compartment??? Looks like a hose should attach to it....where does the hose go???

I believe that is a charcoal filter and is part of the emission controls on an SC. There is one hose that comes from the gas tank filler neck (I think) and another hose that runs from the end of the cannister closest to the rear of the car to the right lower side of the air box. Hope this helps.

Thanks Fred...that is exactly what I thought...a hose should run from the airbox to the canister...my hose is missing......:eek:
