993 Project (back to school update)

Hey pelicanites,

Unfortunately I didnt find much time over winter break to work on the car. Heres a little look into what I've been doing.

Car in its current state:

ITBs test fitment for plenum fabrication.

First look of the full hot side of the turbo system mounted.

Bracket for the turbo.

I'll be mounting the intercoolers (started that today), fabricating the intake plenums and some ducting this MLK weekend.

Dutchie 01-14-2005 09:54 PM

yes Princeton should be banned for posting P&&^ without a warning ;)

Too bad you have to work in such a small workshop :D

Rufblackbird 01-15-2005 01:38 AM

WOW, keep up the great work Princeton!

How are you plumbing the intercoolers?

plain fan 01-15-2005 07:35 AM

Yeah how about some history and numbers to go with that pictures. But I really want to know how many trial and error times it took to get the car to sit like that on stands. ;)

makaio 01-15-2005 09:38 AM

Very cool! I like the exits next to the license plate as well.

needcash 01-15-2005 09:39 AM

the only thing i dont like is all the carbon fiber look (needs to be painted) and the wide body (just the rivits)

IROC 01-15-2005 10:18 AM

I love those pipes coming out the back. That is so cool.

Very good work! Keep it going!

There is one thing though: I'm very sceptical about placing and choice of air-filters. Those "swamp style" filters are hardly effective when it comes to purification and your position will make them suck heaps of dirt.

It would be much better idea to run turbes up to engine compartment and connect them to filter there, where the can suck clean and cold air. It would be preferable if you can adopt some sort of paper filer, but I guess it will be somewhat cramped there once the intercooler comes into place.

Leland Pate 01-16-2005 05:58 AM

The air filters should be fairly well protected from dirt, water and debris by the plastic fender liners, I'd think.

I too wonder how loud this beast is while running.

PorscheGuy79 01-16-2005 07:12 AM

That is extremely hot, can we get a couple more update pictures?

I think the filters would be fine if there was somesort of sheild for them, my main concern would be water clogging the filters and stalling the car. That is if you can drive it in the rain... :D

efhughes3 01-16-2005 09:26 AM

WOW!!!

I predict that this car will be the subject of a magazine article in Excellence or some other publication......
