Question 930 trans oil ?

I was wondering what the best trans oil to use in a 930 gear box , it does have limited slip diff as well.
Thanks Bill

Factory manual says GL5. There are lot's of goos GL5-classed gear oils around. Don't expect any miracles though, new oil usually won't improve shift feel on these brutes.

Thanx Bill!

I changed tranny lube on my own 930 with 147kmiles under it's belt. Being performance cars, I believe owners change tranny oil quite frequently.

I found few broken tooths on the magnet and some minor metal dust but shift feeling didn't improve that much. I guess it's the same for all Porsche synchromesh-equipped transmissions. You can only do that much before those worn synchros need to be replaced.

How many miles on your car and do you have any problems with shifting? 3:rd gear synchro is quite common...

Cheers!

Oh sorry, I misunderstood! So you do have LSD?

They you have to find GL-5 classed tranny lube with LS-additive, to help those clutches work (not needed with torque-biasing Quaife/Torsen etc. diffs).

Just call me the price of darkness ! Just remember Carol Shelby took out a perfectly good Bristel engine out of the little roadster, transplanted a AMERICAN V8 and now everyone calls him a icon, so I think maybe we are onto something Todd, Maybe we will be icons as well.
