The fuel injector is held into the sleeve with an o-ring. Pull the injector straight up, removing it from the sleeve, and see if the o-ring is still intact. If not, replace with a new $.80 o-ring. If the o-ring is stll intact and in decent shape, the sleeve may be damaged....remove the sleeve, check for cracks, etc.
BTW: Its a good idea to replace the o-rings around injectors and sleeves as if they are bad, they are a good source for intake leaks.

Even with new sleves and o-rings they still have a bit of movement when fully seated. I took a few pics to help you visualize how they look when removed. Hope they help.

The easiest way that I have found to remove CIS injectors is to remove the fuel line and put a large nut on the injector threads. Then use a large square shank screwdriver to pry upwards against the nut to extract the injector. I have tried some of the "special" tools made to do this job but the nut/screwdriver method works the best for me.
Good luck with your project! Fred Cook '80 911SC coupe |

Don't Dare to pull it out with the fuel line attached to it..!!! There is a tool(FI puller) but you can get 2 brake Ajustment tools and pry it out. remember to apply the same force evenly and don't damage the treads. get a set of New Fuel Injectors O-ring's, and remember to put the o-ring's in a small container with gasoline this way you will make it more soft. Beleive me , you don't want and air leak on this area. I will try to post a picture of the tool ( puller) later Vic... |

The best improvement I made on my 83SC was new injectors !
As injectors go SC injectors are cheap. My SC had about 200,000 miles on it and my mechanic noticed one of them was leaking. New ones really made a difference. |

I will likely replace them all...that and the fuel lines...trying to do everything I can while the engine is out...new headers, gaskets, clutch...etc...
