Help Getting Power Window Up
 

I need to get my windows up to take the car for some work tomorrow. I have removed the door panels and switches and I can't get the passenger window up. The following link shows the connections, though my wire colors are a little different.

Can I jumper the wires on the passenger door to get it to go up?

The colors on the passenger are:
Red/Wht
Red/Blk
Brn
Blue
Blue

The colors on the drivers side passenger switch are:
Red/Wht
Red/Blk
Brn
Red
Red

Hi John,

On my 88, behind the tweeter cover is a gear that I can insert a hex key in and roll the window up or down. The tweeter cover on my door is directly the window switches. I don't know if this applies to you year model. I had to puncture the plastic behind the door panel to see this. I believe the process is covered in my owners manual. Hope this helps.

I've got the plastic cover off and I don't see where there is any manual opportunity to raise the window. Any pictures or ideas? It's 20 degrees here and I really don;t want to drive with the window down.

20 degrees...yikes! OK, imagine where there would be a window crank if no power windows. It's been a while but IIRC, there is a gear looking gizmo with a hole in it. Insert the long side of an allen through that hole and you will hit a hex opening. I'm sorry I don't remember the size....maybe a 5mm. Once you get the allen seated you will probably need some pliers to turn it to raise the window. Let me know if this helps.

In an emergency situation I manually lifted the window and used wood shims to hold the window up. Got me home.
