Help Getting Power Window Up
I need to get my windows up to take the car for some work tomorrow. I have removed the door panels and switches and I can't get the passenger window up. The following link shows the connections, though my wire colors are a little different.

The colors on the passenger are: Red/Wht Red/Blk Brn Blue Blue The colors on the drivers side passenger switch are: Red/Wht Red/Blk Brn Red Red Thanks, John |
Hi John,
On my 88, behind the tweeter cover is a gear that I can insert a hex key in and roll the window up or down. The tweeter cover on my door is directly the window switches. I don't know if this applies to you year model. I had to puncture the plastic behind the door panel to see this. I believe the process is covered in my owners manual. Hope this helps. I've got the plastic cover off and I don't see where there is any manual opportunity to raise the window. Any pictures or ideas? It's 20 degrees here and I really don;t want to drive with the window down.

20 degrees...yikes! OK, imagine where there would be a window crank if no power windows. It's been a while but IIRC, there is a gear looking gizmo with a hole in it. Insert the long side of an allen through that hole and you will hit a hex opening. I'm sorry I don't remember the size....maybe a 5mm. Once you get the allen seated you will probably need some pliers to turn it to raise the window. Let me know if this helps.

You have any luck with the window?

In an emergency situation I manually lifted the window and used wood shims to hold the window up. Got me home.
