I'm getting ready to have my car repainted and I want to know if I can , legally remove the productio / vin sticker and the non catylist sticker from the drivers door jam ? I know this will destroy them but they were painted around previously and I know this will make this area look bad if I do it the same way again .
Thanks Jim |

I believe you can buy that thru the factory. I however saved mine when I took it off. It won't really be reuseable but I have it. Just take a piece of thick real high quality clear tape, cover the vin sticker, trim it with a razor blade, then take the razor blade and slowly scrape it off in one piece.

You should be able to get them through the dealership for around $80, but take the paperwork and be prepared to wait months and the new vin will look different.
If you reuse, use a hairdryer to melt the backing glue because it'll tear easily.

Just thought I'd put this out there:
Stoddard told me today that as of a few months ago Porsche is no longer providing replacement early VIN stickers. In fact, they thought that the stickers are NLA all the way up to the early- to mid- 80's. Maybe Porsche just ran out of their NOS and decided not to make more?
