how much should I pay for this?

I'm looking at a 1969 straight body coupe, rust removed, sandblasted, and repainted. It's a roller w/complete new seals, new master brake cylinder, new gas tank. Electricals are old and in need of replacement. Suspension must be addressed. Fuchs. Tires are throw-away.

It's the foundation for a track or street car. How much should I pay for this?

I'd pretty much be paying for a recently painted roller. Thanks.

Nice car, tough to say...do you have any pictures of it? I would say anywhere up to $6,000 or maybe even more if it is mint...a car like that completely restored would be relatively valuable. Of course it could also be worth about $2,000 if it is in just so so condition...how is the glass ad the seals?

My $0.02

Seals were a complete package from Doc + Cys. Receipts shown for just the body work alone is over $6K, but seller is giving up project and wiling to negotiate price.

Intended purpose. Street and maybe track for future.

Anything roller, even a motorcycle is a lot work and potential big $$$. What are nice, slighlty modified cars of that vintage selling for in your area??

Say you can buy the car for $3K. To make it easy you'd have to get a donner car (later maybe?) to transfer all needed stuff. The drivetrain and suspension are obvious, it's all the little things that come later will cost $$ and time.

Unless you really want to do an almost ground up project you might be better off to buy a car that's already done and is much closer to your needs. Believe me, driving the car is more fun than constantly working on it.

I agree with asphaltgambler...working on the car can be fun, but after awhile it loses its appeal

I guess, what I really want to know is how much I should pay for it.

I understand, that's why I'm asking, cause I'm trying to sell mine.

I've gotten a bmw and it's a whole lot more fun to drive that than fix my porsche. So I'm selling and buying a runner. That's why I'm asking.

I need to price this car and get it sold immediately cause I already have the bmw.

Shaun, I can get all that for you. Like every other fellow who's tried a project and walked away, I've spent more money on this one than I'll ever recoupe. I have all that information and a diary of pics for the whole buildup. PM me. I'm gonna put it up for sale soon. I just need to know what people are willing to pay for something like this.
