Wayne, how about a 930S wheel group buy?

Hey Wayne, it's been a while since you've had a group buy on the 930S steering wheel. If there was enough interest would you be willing to offer it? I am ready to buy. How about some of you other guys, are you up for it? Maybe we can convince him.

There is no price or any deal yet. I was simply throwing this out there figuring Wayne may wish to make an offer if enough people showed interest.

With the falling dollar, my costs on these wheels has gone up considerably. We just recently raised our price quite a bit, as my new cost was more than my old retail price...

I would probably have to sell at least 100 of them to be able to get them directly from the German manufacturer...

I've been on the waiting list for about 7-8 months now. It seems the Germans are stiill on vacation. :-(

Wayne, can you put up a ball park price so you aren't getting any insincere votes?

One hundred wheels may be a tough, if not impossible, task. I guess it all comes down to pricing. Does anyone know of the diffences between the wheel that PP sells and the ?OEM wheels that I see elsewhere?

The top one is the PP version, the bottom pic is the ?OEM.

The OEM is superior in build quality( look closely at the seams on the repro wheel), however there have been colour issues with the OEM, some people prefer the "blackness" of the reproduction wheel . I purchased the repro wheel - wish I had waited and bought OEM. The wheels on Ebay are the best deal IMHO http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7917793869&category=33704&sspagename=WD1V

The OEM wheel uses a single piece of leather for the rim/spokes. The replica wheel uses 4 pieces that are glued where the spokes meet the rim.

I actually just hung up the phone with the seller of the wheel that creaturecat listed. Says it's a true OEM wheel. $399 including the hub. I am hoping we could put something together with Wayne to "keep it in the family", but it doesn't seem that we would be anywhere close to 100 orders.

I bought my wheel last August from that eBay seller. He is on the level - good guy.

The wheel is the OEM wheel with the crest and is exactly as pictured above. The color is not DARK black but rather a LIGHT black. It is a little lighter than the black in my interior but I quickly got over that! The wheel feels and looks great!

I mentioned the slight color difference to my son and wife. They both thought I was crazy for even noticing.

I have seen and touched the repro wheel - definately lower quality leather. The color match is better though.
