heater hose alternatives? backdated

Hay. What's everyone using fro heater goses that go from backdated ducts to the heat exchangers? OEM, aftermarket, etc?
I'm not a concours weenie but don't want something that looks "tuner" or backwoods engineered (no offense) ;)

Try Aircraft Spruce & Specialty (aircraftspruce.com). 2.5 inch SCAT and SCEET heater hoses, purchased by the foot.

Try the stock ones - they look great

I used the stock ones, which are aluminized paper (or are they paperized aluminum?), and they look wonderful. I got them from the local Porsche dealer, at the same price as any mail-order house, and he had them in stock.

Take a look at the results.

For those of you that do not have access to friendly Porsche dealers, SCAT tubing can be purchased by the foot from you local FBO operator at the local airport.

SCAT Tubing is Silicone Air Tubing.

Good luck,

It can also be ordered from Wicks, Wag Aero and other places similar to Aircraft Spruce. It is not cheap, but probably cheaper than the dealership. It is good stuff from a quality standpoint.

OK, thanks for the info.
I did a quick search on pelican's site for the stock hoses for a comparison and wasn't sure if I had found what I was looking for. I'll probably have to call pelican to make sure I'm looking at the right thing, I don't know which way I'll go yet but at least I have a couple different options.
Last week when I did the backdate it was cold here (50's) and I wanted heat, today it's in the 80's, go figure.
I better get on it before it gets cold again ;)

I went with the stock, pre-74 hose from Pelican.

i have got 4 feet of the aircraft spruce 2 1/2" stuff you can have.... i have 4 extra feet because the 2 1/2 did not fit the exchanger inlet. i would measure twice and buy once because mine required a second purchase of 2 3/4".
