Good Results!

Well now I know,

Just got my CIS injectors back from WitchHunters and it was a good deal. $12 an injector and a one day turnaround. Talked to Gordon, the operator, and he said that there is no charge for an injector that he can't recover.

I did the old carb spray cleaner check (take that red straw tube and presurize the inlet with the carb spray) on my injectors and all but two looked good. WH dose a before and after clean check. The initial WH check showed only two good, and after clean all where good.

If you think your injectors are bad, this seems like a no risk method to see if they can be recovered. I will let you know how they work in the engine when I get it running and how long they last.

Brother,

I think that which hunter is just the name of the company. It looks like they are one of a couple that have a ultrasonic cleaner and a flow checker. Special T Auto, a CIS house, also cleans injectors.

On WitchHunter, I was impressed with their quick turnaround and pre and post test results. I found them by just doing a google for injector cleaners. I saw that they knew how to spell 'CIS' and gave it a spin.

The engine has about another month or two before I get it in the car. The last time I gave this car the butt dyno was back in 86'. Now going from a stock 2.7 to a Carrera 3.0 after a 18 year break should be fun.

Brother,

Yeah, I called an injector cleaning place in Houston, but they quoted me $25 an injector. I may have used the 'P' word.

The car was my Fathers. He has got to many other projects (64' 356SC and R90S BMW to name a few) and offered it to me. I'll post when it is all together.

Very cool.

I eventually want to rebuild mine and maybe get a little more performance out of it. I've got a little over 176,000 on a stock SC and nothing major is broken. I'll probably have to refurbish the transmission before the engine. 1st and 2nd are rarely gotten into on the first try. Time and money; money and time.

How long have you had the 914?

Thanks-that's good info. I've got my motor coming out in March-probably another item to put on the list.

Yeah, and for $12 a pop, you can't go wrong. I really like the flow test before and after their cleaning.
