I have a couple of points to ask for advice/recommendations.

I'm doing an engine rebuild on my 82 SC (Euro). In fact a fairly big make-over to the engine and body.

Briefly: I'm going from 3.0L to 3.2, with 'S' cams and 40 IDA Webers. The car will mainly be used on track with occasional road use.

I intend ordering one of MB911's mufflers (2 in 2 out) for the exhaust system and wondered which headers to get to go with it?
I dont want heat exchangers and my considerations at present are the 1.3/4" Bursch headers or the 1.3/4" European racing headers from Dart auto. The Dart headers are however approx 170 dollars more. Are they any better for the extra or are there any other headers out there suitable for my application?

The second question I have is about Pistons and Cylinder sets.
I really do want OEM Mahle p&c's. But struggling to find them.
Dart auto do them at 3,716 dollars (but as yet they haven't replied to my email requesting availability and shipping costs).

A European company called FVD show them at 2.950 euros (approx 3.837 USD) plus shipping (37 USD).

The only problem is that after talking to FVD's agent in the UK I was told that they may not be Mahle (Idon't know which make they would be - it doesn't matter because I want Mahle)- they only do Mahle on a production run when they get an order for 20 or more sets. So it could be a long wait if your number one in the order line or sooner if you number 20 (if you see what I mean).

So, are there any other suppliers of the Mahle 3.0L to 3.2L P&C's that any one knows of that I can go to and get them shipped to UK.

Try Jon at EBS (engine builder's supply) in Reno. They have Mahle ads in the English Porsche mags.
