911SC Fuel Line Question?

This is the fuel line that runs from the fuel filter over to the fuel distributor. My car is a 1980 (USA) and apparently this line is only available for the 78s and 79s - Part No is 930.110.514.00. Does anyone know what might be different and would the 78-79 line work on my car?
Thanks

Cool Fuel line swap......

I doubt that there was much difference between the years for this fuel line. The easiest way to find out is to order the line and compare the new one to the old line. Or you could (carefully) cut the old line off the end fittings and replace the old line with a piece of high pressure hose. Just make sure that it is a snug fit on the end barbs and use a high quality clamp. I did the very same thing on my '80 SC after accidentally cracking the line going to the WUR. It worked like a champ for a month or so until I got around to ordering a replacement hose.

Good Luck!

Is this hose a hard nylon (plastic hose)? If so, you can replace the hose part by buying some tubing and pressing it onto the old fittings. Cost, about $0.30/ft for the tubing and may a few dollars to rig a holder. Do a search using nylon and Jim Sims for complete details.

Thanks for the replies. The hose is part metal line and plastic. The metal section comes off the filter and makes a 180 degree bend and then the plastic section runs off to the fuel distributor. I suspect that they are pretty close between the 78-79 and 80.

Do you have the metal parts?

If so, make your own. CIS W.U.R. 73 1/2 superceded
