Battery cut off switch wiring.

OK, Im at the point on my project where Im wiring the battery master cut off. Have a question about which wire you guys have used to make the ignition cut off. The switch has 3 terminals on each side. Instructions say:

Side A
1. battery cable to battery
2. grounded through supplied resistor.
3. coil

Side B
1. main cable to starter
2. other three feed wires that were on original battery terminal
3. Ignition switch

Im assuming these instructions were made for cars where the the coil wire went right from the ign switch to the coil, but I have a 993 3.6 and looking at the wiring diagram and since I dont have it wired the original way anymore (using Timmons jumper harness with DME relay)
Couldnt I just interupt the + wire going to the coils and route it though the cut off switch? Im thinking that would be the same thing, but want to be sure before I blow a module.!
In the factory setup, the coils have a common hot wire from the ignition switch, and the neg sides go to the ignition module under the seat.
