Stolen Toter Home and Cup Car

My friend just sent me this email. His car and rig were stolen from the Denver area.

Everyone,

PLEASE HELP IFYOU CAN

The AutoSport Werks Rig and the #22 Race Car have been STOLEN!

Please spread the word if you see or hear about any new teams with a new 2004 Renegade 16' Toterhome with Blue suede interior and a 3 car trailer with Chrome rear lift gate. Inside was the #22 Porsche GT3 Cup Car. Also a Dynapack 4-wheel portable Dyno plus miscellaneous inventory.

Please forward this email to anyone you know that may be able to spot it on the road. It was last seen at Noon on Sunday 2/20/05. The Vinyl graphics may be off off it now... The license plates for the Toter home are 916-KIG and for the trailer is 497-HMG

Thanks in advance for any info!! It is less than 24 hours away...

I just got off the phone with him and that's just what he was saying.

I mean what could anyone do with this stuff? Anyone buying a toter like this would expect to see paperwork. What would you do with a stolen Cup Car? You couldn't drive it on the street and it's a pretty small community of racers out there.

He was pretty upset about it.

Is this the trailer you have parked off 36 near Interlocken? I remember seeing it there, as it has been for a while, on Sunday morning.

Be sure to canvas every site and even ebay.

Post messages on Rennlist and any group that the car might run. Maybe Identifying marks other than paint?

Possibly even post pictures at truck-stops around as well. It's an easily recognizable vehicle.

Best of luck for recovery to your friend.

Here's a thread identifying some other boards posted to and a little more info about the grab.

http://forums.audiworld.com/rockymtn/msgs/33983.phtml

What you can't see in the above photos is that the ASW shop doesn't have room for the trailer, so it has to be stashed off site and therefore unobserved. I'm guessing it was hidden yesterday until dark then they made a run for the border to get out of the CSP's reach.

Sucks, the GT3 was Randy Pobst's old car. Dan had it a a fund raiser this summer and Randy gave a few people rides in it at SCR. Some informal timing had him unofficially beating a few best class times for the track.

No details yet, but it looks like petty theft (if you can call it that).

Initial report says it was found in Brighton, one of the cities to the NE that is part of what makes up the Denver area.

The guy who was passing status updates to the quattro lists switched over to talking about high boost pushing oil into turbo intake tracts.

Here's a little more (didn't ping him about it as he's onto other issues):

Awesome! Great news!

I hope he didn't lose too much stuff. Tell me they didn't just trash everything and run off with some tools.
