Backdate a SC to a pre impact bumper car

I have come across a few articles lately concerning a trend that is growing in the UK. Since pre-impact bumper cars are hard to find there, for various reasons. Some chaps, as they may say, and even a company I heard about are taking later model cars (typically SCs) and retro fitting them with exterior components to strongly resemble early cars. Obviously on the skin level the cars outer measurements didn't change much making this possible. Anyway, it is pretty obvious the benefits of this practice; more modern dependability, amenities, and performance...with most of the styling of the early cars. I was wondering if anyone on this site had backdated their cars or at least seen one of what I am referring to. It is a very interesting concept and whatever is needed to keep the Brits from buying up all of our early P-cars in the US, mostly the jems found throughout Southern CA., and taking them back to their wet dank island that rushed all of their early cars to oblivion in the first place I am all for it.

Okkkk Obviously I don't live on this site like some people. I'll let you two boyfriends get back to your little private jokes then and the review of your torsion bar
PS.... if you are so busy with that torsion bar then why even bother reading my thread

I'm not sure you got the messege here...and I hope I've got your message wrong, but Kurt and I are part of a small gruppe of hotrodders, hence the "inside" joke...nothing meant to be offensive or even directed at you.

Torsion..bar? Kurt needed help in a separate thread.

Spending too much time here? Well there are those of us who can perform multiple tasks very well and still have fun posting here. Kurt is a successful attorney, and I'm a 50+ hr/week engineer/consultant, two kids, two project cars and I'm working on getting a business on it's feet. Somehow, I don't think this BBS is a major factor in our lives as you have envisioned it...it's it, Kurt?

We were trying to help...

Hey new guy, how about kissing my asss? Both of us gave you the best backdate thread on this board. Souk just happens to be the backdate guru and is a friend of mine, hence the joking.

Ok, let's put a stop to this before things get out of hand. Calling you a bastard was a compliment, not an insult. I should have known that you would not know this, being new to this board. Souk and I are part of Gruppe B, which is a group of 911 owners that make changes to our cars that might make others cringe, such as extreme weight removal or backdating from a late model to an early model 911. The "B" in Gruppe B stands for "bastard" as in bastardizing a car. A symbol we wear with pride.

LOL! "bastard" was meant to define your car, one that deviates from the factory formula with modifications to suit the owner. Before the term "hot rod" became a household" term, I'm sure there were people who were offended when they were called a "hot rodder." Imaging that...

Apologize to Kurt ( I'm more thick skin than he is ) and we'll teach you how to really enjoy your car

Dean Vernon Wormer: Greg, what is the worst Porsche group on the internet?

Greg Marmalard: Well that would be hard to say, sir. They're each outstanding in their own way.

Dean Vernon Wormer: Cut the horse****, son. I've got their disciplinary files right here. Who dropped a whole truckload of fizzies into the swim meet? Who delivered the medical school cadavers to the alumni dinner? Every Halloween, the trees are filled with underwear. Every spring, the toilets explode.

Greg Marmalard: You're talking about Gruppe B, sir.

Dean Vernon Wormer: Of course I'm talking about Gruppe B, you TWERP!

Coolbeverage,

Lighten up, they are just trying to help and have some fun along the way. Souk and Kurt have a contributed a lot to this board and are well respected around here.

BTW.. What does so-and-so being a attorney or so-and-so being a engineer have to do with anything or did this need to be pointed out to establish your elitist Porsche owner dominance over someone. Actually I just got off the phone with an attorney who was yelling and arguing with me about my bank's right to off set his client and in turn I was yelling at him about his obvious ignorance in relation to our loan agreement so the piece of info about your professions could have just as well been withheld. Not only Doctors, Lawyers, Engineers or the like own Porsche..as much as that reality may pain you or muddle up your group here.

I believe bringing up professions was to make a point that they aren't living in thier parents basement spending 24/7 on the Pelican BBS. Before you wig out on me I am not inferring that you live in your parents basement.

I think Souk was just pointing out their busy careers to address your point that suggests that they "live on this site".

btw: I think backdating your SC would be sweet!
