cold start

79 sc Car has never had a problem starting, last night the car was outside do to a move. the tempature wasabout 5f, now the car wont start, it cranks sounds like it is going to start than dies. Need help.

This is tough. The cold temp could be affecting your battery, your WUR, AAR or AAV. There could also be a problem w/ your CSV, DME , 02sensor or frequency valve. Your mixture could be too lean. Your plug wires could be bad. You could have moisture (ice?) in your distrib.

I like to start w/ the cheap and easy items first. Try another battery, or one of those portable starter batteries after you check your distributor cap, rotor and wires.

cold start problem

Your cold start problem could be caused by several things but foremost among these things is too high cold pressure to the WUR or a defective WUR. I used to have this cold start when the temp. drops below 50 degrees F. and I had converted my WUR into an adjustable WUR.

The last time I started the car cold was about 30 deg. F. You need a Fuel Injection Gauge Kit to do a good evaluation of your problem. PM me for a more detail step by step procedure. Good luck.
