Storing leather seats. ANy tips?
I am storing my stock seats in the basement. It's warm and dry. Is there anything I should do to keep them in ok condition?

I'm no expert, but I would suggest wrapping them in heavy plastic to keep rodents and insects off them. You may want to put leather conditioner on them before you wrap them too.
Call an upholstery shop and see what they suggest.

Silica gel packets? I dunno. I'd suggest a good seal, but then the experts might say you need air circulation. Definitely ask an upholstery shop and let us know what they say.

Leather stores best like a bottle of wine, a little cooler than you'd like for your comfort and some humidity, but not enough for mold to grow.
If you didn't like my answer, Google up storage for fur coats. In bags, circulating air, climate and pest control. Whatever you do, don't store them near a furnace. Furnaces use up the good humidity and attract pests. |
