SC loses power/coughs; lambda?
A buddies SC across the states (a weissach I partially restored last year) lost power last week above 3k rpm and ran rough at idle. He started it next day and rough idle continued- tow truck to shop and the mech started it up and it idled fine....
I'm guessing lambda- any other guesses? Thanks all. ~John |
fuel filter.

hmmm...fuel filter replaced last year and no news yet on the mech's verdict.

My first guess would be the little square relay under the passenger seat. I think it runs the frequency valve. The frequency valve is located behind the throttle body on my car. It buzzes when it is working. If it is not working, the car runs like a turd. The fuse that runs the cabin light also runs the relay. So, if the cabin illumination lights just above the side windows do not work the fuse is the problem. If unplugging the relay does nothing to change how the engine runs, then this is the problem. Unplugging that relay makes my car run like a turd.
Or maybe you don't have this type of CIS system. In that case, nevermind. |
can that relay be ppurchased and if so whats the part number.. where would it be listed?

Bump
Might anyone know the Part No. for that lambda relay? |
warm up regulator clogged or stuck?
change of season makes it more noticable just a thought |
My weissach had that turd problem...at the track no less...I was getting passed by the little old lady w/ the steel walker. A pin for the harness was receded (how???) and fought it for a long time before I was able to make a solid connection and get that turd out of my car. Replaced the relay twice b/f I saw the recessed pin as well. Don't know if thats the deal here but a great thought.

Hope I can remember that cabin light biz. if I encounter the same someday...
Let us know when you find out. |
Well I asked the owner at the local Porsche repair shop here www.Lufteknic.com .He said they were about $6 and he has them in stock. Don't know what else to tell ya. Didnt get a part number because he was basically closed when I went by and I was dropping off some well used tan seats and ended up shootin the breeze for a min. Still don't know the part number. Might be avail. on this site as well.
