"Monster Mats" for 911's

Hello,

I've been looking high and low for thick rubber mats for my 86' 911. I own a VW and have those excellent "Monster Mats".
Does anybody know whether there is something out there like this that would fit my car?
I have visited my local VW dealership to check sizes. They are close but not exact.

Any help would be appreciated
Thanks,

Kato,

I have looked also for a similiar mat and have not found one yet. I have a set of $20 plastic mats that I throw on top of the carpet just to pick up most of my shoe grime.

These "coco mats" have a thick rubber backing. I've enjoyed them...

I've got some cheapo thin black ones in there right now.

The Beetle/Golf/Jetta monster mats sort of fit. The only thing is they say Golf or Jetta. At least the Beetle ones have the outline of the car. There are also those "r-line" ones as well. If I am not successful in finding something soon when spring comes I'm going to drive to the VW dealer and try and get a match. They weren't too keen on this as the mats are stapled together but I did buy a car from them ... so that was their instructions.

Cheers,

Check out Weathertech. I think this is what you're looking for. Good luck.

Scott,

I don't know if I like the look of them but they would fit for sure. Do you have a set of these? If so what are your impressions?

Thanks,

Too "colourful". Do they come in a straight black?

If you're looking for thick rubber "monster mats," I'm guessing they're not going to be pretty. Functionality is probably the priority. I don't have these, so no impressions.

The VW mats are both ... functional and pretty (in a man-ly kind of way)

And if you were driving a VW, they'd be perfect.

The car was originally delivered by VW Canada ... so perhaps it's appropriate ... maybe ....

I figure you could get away with the new beetle ones or the generic "R-line" ones they have available ...

Too bad Porsche doesn't make them...

Here's where to go:

http://www.weathertech.com/store/vehsearch.asp?item_group_id=3&make_id=43&year_no1984&veh_opt_choice_id=0

this is the way to go. I use them as winter mats in all my vehicles, and as rainy day mats in the 911. You can pour a soda on tehm and it won't touch the carpet! Well worth the price.

hey...as rubber mats go, they're fine. But they keep the nice wool carpets looking good...

Plus they have lots of colors so they will "blend in". No flashy lines or graphics. I have Griots Garage mats for summer, these for spring and fall.

The wait for a set takes a while, but the fit is exact...

I did an internet search just now and found Lloyd's mats. You can order them from the host.

They have a "rubberlite" I think it's called.
Anyone ordered a set of these? If so, any comments.

Thanks,
