Anyone know the P/N for this?
 

As some of you may know I am taking my car apart. It is a 1977 and smells bad. When stripping the interrior I found a couple of items. First, the padding and carpet under the rear seats were soaked and very mildewy. It looked like a PO took out the rear seat belts and did not fill in the holes allowing lots of moister to enter and soak forever. Secondly I have found two of these - dead mice in the ventalation system. I'm glad I wore a resperator when stripping this thing down. By the way, his little head fell off deep inside the Passanger side heater passage way. Anyone know how to gain access to this area?

I wonder what the record is for dead mice in an old porsche? I am up to two. I have also found $.67 in change.

Don't assume that water got in only through the belt bolt holes.
Any owner of a pre-993 911 who says his car doesn't leak has never taken it apart.
Check under the 3 rear window seals.

Good idea George. I am planning on replacing the head liner and the windows have to come out. There was quite a wind noise coming from somewhere when I first drove it. Do you have any suggestions for sealing the windows properly when I reinstall them?

Not even close to the record for dead mice ... though I don't know what that actual number might be! Pics of entire nests of toasted baby mice found on top of the cylinders have been posted here before.

Have you pulled the engine, yet, and taken a look under the cooling shroud?

I found the mouse droppings and a next on the top of my engine after it was stored in the barn. I also found the snake skin where they met their maker.

yes, it is more likely rear window seals, not the bolt holes of seat belts.

wild animals often harbor diseases, some of which can transmit to humans from touch, from droppings, even from getting close (fleas, mites can jump...)

One of the diseases carried by rodents is the Hanta virus. When droppings are disturbed the resultant dust settles in the lungs. Often deadly.

An agressive trapping program should be employed.

I found another .25 when removing the pedal assembly. So, now I am up to $.92 Now I just have to get the mouse head out of the ventelation system. What was that PN again? The real funny thing is how clean and perfect a car this was represented to me before I bought it. In the meantime I am becoming a porschefile getting every thing sorted and meeting very good people on this website. I'm not after a show car. I just want it to run well and not stink inside.

I forgot to add that these are east coast mice and I dont think they carry Haunta virus.
