81 SC cranks but wont start problem

81 sc non turbo Starts every morning and runs great. leave it for 2 hours and it takes a long time and many tries to start then runs sluggish till it warms up. Any ideas to tell the mechanic on Monday when I take it for a new airbox and probably clutch. Might as well get it done as it isn't good to be the best looking car in the Prison Parking lot and then to have the warden hear me trying to start it! He did today after he said he was paying me too much (referring to the Porsche) after I finally started it I got out and told him "No your not"! any ideas or just tell the mechanic at Stuttgart West in Denver (Thanks Grady) and hope its not too major. What could be major after an airbox and a clutch? Hopefully that bentley manuel gets here soon!

Do a search for warm start problems. It's been a while since I read the posts, but it sounds like you have either a CIS problem or low fuel pressure. If I remember, a lot of the warm start problems are leaky fuel accumulators and/or the need for a fuel check valve.

You really need a fuel pressure gauge to help you diagnose your problem. You can throw parts at a CIS equipped car all day long, and not solve the problem.

But if I was a betting man, I would guess it's your fuel acumulator.
