Front Suspension Travel - 2 up 2 down 18.0 Deg. motion.
Can it be true that the the 911 only has 2" of upward suspension travel at 0.0 Deg. angle on the A-arms? Should there not be 3" of upper compression travel and 2" of rebounding travel giving a total of 22.5 Deg. ? This is what I got: @ 0" of travel : A-arm @ +9.0 Deg. ( Strut full compression ) @ 2" of travel : A-arm @ 0.0 Deg. ( A-arm level ) @ 3" of travel : A-arm @ -4.5 Deg. @ 4" of travel : A-arm @ -9.0 Deg. @ 7" of travel : A-arm @ -22.5 Deg. ( Strut full extension ) At 3" of upper compression travel the A-arm is @ -4.5 Deg. <<< Is this correct ride height? 2 inches of jounce sounds low, but there are a number of things I would wonder about....any rubber bump stops in the shocks, I found there was only about 1/2 inch of jounce in my 911 (wore out a set of tires in one track day due to the understeer that it caused), discovered too long bump stops inside my Bilstiens....
Not sure what I got for travel, but 2 inches measured at the wheel centre sounds low... Dennis

Sorry I shoud have said a minimum of 2" jounce.
There is a total of 7" of front suspension travle to work with. The people who I have talked to who design suspensions say a minimum of 3" up and 2" down relative to ride height. This was measured with the one OEM bumpstop in the BOGE, it compressed is about an inch in height. Thanks Todd

I vote for 7" of travel and an entry into Dakar 2005.

Ok, I saw another post where the factory angle was around -10.0 Deg.
This would equate to 4.00" of upward suspension travle before the strut bottomed out. The only problem is with this much (4") upward travel I would have 2.75" of gap between the top of the front tire and the fender lip - this is with the OEM bump stop installed in the strut. Ekkk. I also found 4.25" from torsion centerline to spindle centerline. I will compare this also.
