Another picture of the Boxster coupe

I guess they're calling the car "Cayman". This is a composite photo but if it really ends up looking like this, who's going to buy a 997? The new Boxster S is plenty quick enough for me.

A far more desirable car to me then the CGT. But maybe because there is a hope that I'll be able to own and -- more importantly -- regularly drive one. I can't want until the car shows start to test drive them.

Not different enough from the 911? I thought that was Porsche's intent to better distinguish the cars from each other? Great looking though!

The reason that it's not different enough from the 911 is that they photoshopped a 911 roof onto a boxster, so it does look mucho like a 911.

I kinda like the look of the boxster with the optional hardtop, and that way you've got two cars in one.

The new boxster headlights are so much better than the old. Thank goodness they got rid of the old 996/boxster/updated 996 headlights.

Very, very nice, but don't you think this design is too close to the 911 for the marketing team's liking? There have been rumors that a buttressed rear treatment (a'la past Ferraris) in lieu of a fastback would fix that.

Progress!

That's a Photoshop...and a bad one at that!

The picture of the silver Porsche looks like its photochopped! The dark contour of the rear fender and the upper body vary too much in contrast.

I agree...the improved looks over the "996/997" 911 is probably due to the reduced overhang ...both front and rear.

Wil

EDIT...especially the rear...and furthermore, the side air inakes "hint" of the earlier Turbo stone-guards...subtle sublimable messages....

definately photoshopped.

I think someone has done an excellent job melding the 911-993 classic profile and the 997 modern-y look

I made this from another spy photo. This will be a little more realistic idea of the side view. (Personally, I think it's DEAD sexy!)

I like the photoshop boxster much more then the spy-photo. Maybe the designers should learn how to use photoshop.....
