Elephant Racing to sponsor One Lap 1979 930
Pelican friends,
Just a quick note to announce that I will be running the One Lap of America (www.onelapofamerica.com) again this year (April 30 to May 7), and I am happy to say Elephant Racing will be part of the fun. I am very much looking forward to running the monoballs and polybronze bearings that I've read so much about. We've had good luck with three podium finishes in the Vintage Foreign class over the last three years, (2nd in 2002, 3rd in 2003 and 2nd again in 2004) but I'm hoping that this is the year we break into 1st. For those of you interested, beginning April 29, we will be sending daily updates of the event to Chuck Moreland for inclusion on the www.elephantracing.com website. Here is last years saga: http://www.autobahnperformance.com/motorsports-article-0504.htm Finally a picture from 2003 on the dirt track at Tulsa Speedway. Wish us luck, Thanks, Dave ![]() |

Dave,
Very cool. Would love to pack up for a few weeks and do the same thing. Good news is you'll be running our local track at Nelson Ledges. It should safely mark itself in this years challenge as the track in the worst condition and with the worst facilities. That said, the new owners are working hard and it's still a fun drive. It is one of the fastest tracks in the country with virtually no run-off area. Anyway, count me in as trackside support. I can round up a few other local Pelicans, VE Snyder, Pete Brown, A Quiet Boom, and cheer you on. Send me a PM if you want to coordinate things. I just added you to the schedule. John
