Jack,
Congratulations on an absolutely wonderful read...As I read on, I could feel exactly what you were describing from doing track daze at Willow on the motorcycle. Thanks for rekindling the fire! Paul |

I still don't have the Elephant mounts in. I have the bushings, which are great, but we ran out of time and didn't take the front apart again. I'll get them in the next time we're in there. The travel on my suspension is already pretty free, because of the way it's been repositioned by Tyson. But still, I've got the parts and they'll eventually go in. |

No beer and no tv make Homer something something.... sorry, couldn't resist ;) |
thanks for the great read jack... your narrative has a nice Raymond Chandler sort of rythym... it made my snowy day a good one.

Just so you know what it's like here now, see the view from my garage at about noon yesterday.

Bling! :D
RL, it looks like you're gonna be all set for the season's first DE. I'm iffy, depending on when my engine parts come back. I'm biting my nails! And Jack's great read just made it all the harder to think about getting from here (engine parts still in CA) and there (flogging the 73E at Summit Point). |
You certainly captured the essence of a track day morning!
That was EXACTLY how my a.m. goes on a track day. Nothing like pulling out of the driveway on a Sunday am when all is DEAD QUIET......and trying to do it with a Flowmaster. Then the mental prep when the track is within sight - Way To Go. |
Exactly! Except my track day starts a little earlier and I have 2 hours to drive to get there...
And my East coast version. Sunday woke up at 7:30 to the dog whining to go out... it was quiet except for a morning dove that has taken up residence under my front porch. A little fog in the air that burned off by 8:00. By 11:00 it was warm enough to put the top down and head out. I then spent the next two hours driving around coastal neighborhoods looking at remodel ideas for our home. The 911 makes it easy to shoot down side streets, flip a uehy, and of course, everybody waves when you are in a 911 Cabriolet.. See, not all the East Coast is snowbound! |
Nicely done Jack! Thanks for a great read.

Great story, Jack! Has anyone ever told you that you should be a writer? ;)

Maybe if you pull a few "all-nighters" you might be able to make it. If not, then we will need a photographer.... ;) Jack, Great reading. Thanks. It's just the thing to get fired up about springtime. If only US car mags had writing like this... For a moment it felt like I was reading Evo. :D |
'Ten pounds of 911 in a 5-pound bag.'
I love it. Thanks for the story. It brought back several memories of heading out to WSIR from Huntington Beach for an event and the general feeling I get when I am heading to an event anywhere. I do miss driving....... [In a strained Superhero's voice] Must..........get........seat.....time............ ..... |
Jack,
It's been a while since we've had a soul-stirring post to read. Keep 'em coming! |
I am waiting for the Porsche driver based script to get written, made into movie, etc.
|
Great read, thanks!
|
Thanks for the write up Jack.
Looks like a fun day. Cold as night in LA....:) Or the east coast version... It was twice as cold as the ocean floor 100 yards off Manhatten pier.;) |
Very well written, got the blood pumping.
Thank you Jack. |
Jack: Great read! Have you ever considered writing professionally? Just wondering. Doh!
