suspension question

What is the difference between torsion bars and sway bars, or are they the same thing. And what do people think is the best suspension setup for an 84 911 carrera.

thanks
justin

Oh man ! ....big question....there are books for this !

Reader's Digest version...torsion bars are coil springs laid out straight....the "spring" for each wheel of the suspension...

sway bars are more properly called "anti-roll" bars...they connect one side of the car to the other, and inhibit the "roll" tendency in the corners...

As to the why's and where-fors....Puhn's book on suspension is a good "101" on this.....
