sunroof drain holes?

Installing a new interior in my '79 SC. When looking up at the rear of the sunroof pan, on each side I see: the steel cable tube, the outer track drain tube, and another 1/4 dia hole inboard of the cable tube. What is this extra hole, it looks like it would let water into the headliner if a sunroof seal leaked. Are they supposed to be open or plugged? I understand how the outer track portion drains thru the tube portion, the extra holes just baffle me.

Any ideas?

I believe that the mounting hole for the little tit on the side of the sunroof rail. The rail, i seem to recall, has a little plastic covered plug that fits into it to keep the rear rail piece positioned.
