993 exhaust on a 964

Hey Folks, I have read through all the forums I can search up and found some great information on this topic, but none California specific where we still need to smog our cars- hopefully not for long thanks to Leno!
My question is- if I install a 993 headers/heat exchangers and cat but no side mufflers, how loud will it be? Has anyone made custom mufflers that would connect to the cat and fit in the 994 fenders?
THanks, Sebastian

The problem you will face to start is rotating the flanges on one of the headers to fit the 964 heads.

I have a set of 993 headers with the flanges rotated to fit the 964 for sale if interested. I had this set up on my car (993 headers and catalytic converter) with tips on as the exhaust system it is quite loud but has a nice deep tone. It is a cheap way to get a 3.6 transplant up and running but not sure if it will pass smog in CA.

Thanks for sharing your experience! I think the trick may be adding a custom muffler in the fenders that's smaller than the stock 993 ones like https://www.fabspeed.com/porsche-993-turbo-supercup-exhaust-system/.

Shoot me a PM with pricing on your 993 header thanks.

Thanks, Sebastian
