I do not pride or ego. I will abide by members input, if warranted. Thanks.

I'm confused. I promise I'm not trying to be cute, but is the problem that you think other posters shouldn't poach your potential sellers from a thread you started?

We need moderators to remove petty threads such as this one!!!!!!!!!!

To my knowledge this is exactly Cab83_750's point, and I believe this thread is aimed at me for speaking up about a set of SSIs.

Despite Cab's rush to judge, I had no intention of "stealing" or "poaching" his SSIs from him. If he's first in line, then he should be the first to get what he wants. I do think, however, that calling me a "Hijacker!" was rather unmerited. In the scheme of people rushing to buy something offered in the classifieds section, any one person could be thought of as a hijacker - it just depends on who first gets their words sorted out to say "I'll take them" and who is left behind trying to figure out their keyboard.

Cab: "PM'd you" as I said to Elfer, doesn't necessarily mean I was trying to steal your stuff.

I hope the one getting the biggest laugh out of this is Elfer himself. With everything said and done, this subject truly is hardly worth the effort of a reply. Nonetheless, I thought I should say something.

Boy if that's the worst of your worries, then you don't have any... Just wait until you have a run in with one of the professional parts flippers... This is a free board - sort of like the wild west...

you did say you were thinking about the first set offered, so it would be open season on them, being that you didn't nail them down. just like at swap meets, if you don't keep your hand on it, you loose it. i agree that there are a lot of sharks trying to get what someone else asked about first, so i always request that the seller email me rather than post a response.

MRM 02-02-2005 04:59 PM

I agree. Cab83 was unduly harsh and quick on the trigger. This duel goes to dd74.

cab83_750 02-02-2005 06:33 PM

Actually, I rest my case as I know things, via private route, that are not nice to say. As being brought up correctly, "If you have nothing nice to say, shut up!" My theories have been confirmed! And I am satisfied with venting. Lastly, the venting was justified per the information.

Therefore, I stand with my opinion.

For other Pelican members, please continue with the correct etiquette (sp?) of saying ..........."If John-Doe-Pelican-member does not take them, put me next in line."
Or "Put me third...."

This is a great community and please continue the professionalism.

Or "Put me third...."

We have Pelican member nice enough to sell his SSI. Please contact him. However, please read his post:

"I have a set of SSIs that I was planning to use on my '72, but they are the wrong flange. Had been planning to return them, but in the interests of keeping the peace on the board, my offer is this:

I will sell them for $250, shipped. Whoever emails me naked pictures of their hot wife or sister first gets 'em. Good luck!"

Please visit my WTB thread. Hopefully, he's not joking about the $250.00 AND the prerequisite pic.
