Valve guides replacement

Hi folks,

My 87 Carrera is burning quite abit of oil but my plugs are clean. So I guess my valve guides need replacing pronto.

Appreciate if anyone can help me with a list of items I would need as part of the valve guides replacement job.

My guess would be:

1. Valve guides
2. Cam cover gaskets
3. maybe exhaust valves?
4. ??

Thks!

the intake valve stems are usually quite worn, if you take a mic to them. intake, exhaust gaskets, valve cover kit, tuneup parts, oil, filters, cam lines maybe, check the clutch, for a few things.

Are you new to the 911? I am, and what I thought was a lot of oil being burnt was actually normal oil consumption. Could that be the case?

How much oil do you use per ??? miles.

I've used about 1.5 litres in about 8000 Km (5000 miles).

when it gets to a quart in 300-500 miles, it's probably time. a crusty oil fouled plug in one hole gives you a clue too.
