Sherwood, mighty nice. That is the typical sub-50$ improvement.
I did that a while ago to a pair of front hinges. Why did you keep the tab for the gas strut?

George,
I used your hinges as inspiration. Per your suggestion, I'll remove the mounting tab for the gas strut. That's another 1.5 oz. But looking on the brighter side, that's also 42 grams. Sherwood |

An old saying among those who race sailboats is "if it didn't break, it was too heavy." I guess this applies here as well.

Sherwood,
funny thing is, I have a pair of rear lid hinges on the shelf in the garage, waiting for the same mods. I will bevel every hole to go one lighter than yours

....and if you finish off that beer in your cupholder, that's another 12 oz
But it does look cool and think about all the air flow you've opened up in your engine compartment!

I'd be curious to see what some of you guys look like. I imagine guys spending hundreds of hours to shave off the last few onces, meanwhile they are carrying around 30 extra pounds of flab.
You guys better look like jockeys! ;-) |

If you ride a bike (a cyclist), you know what the sickness is. It doesn't matter how much you weigh; it's how much the bike weighs.
I would post a picture, but the Grid Girls thread on OT is gone. Sherwood |

Well, there were some NASCAR races (reruns or current? How do you tell?) and the car guy with a handlebar mustache. Should I have been watching? Sherwood |
